What is West End?

West End is a street in Witney, now forming part of the B4022 to Charlbury.  It has a long history; homes were built here at least by the mid-14th century and today most of the houses are listed buildings dating back to the 17th or 18th centuries.  Many of these buildings were associated with the historically important blanket-weaving industry and West End is regularly described as "one of the best-preserved streets in England".

We hope that this website will help you find out more about West End, past, present and future, and the people who lived and worked here.
